Another Look at 6-4 Beijing, 1989
In one of the 20th century's most memorable photographs, Jeff Widener (AP) captured a lone student standing defiantly before an oncoming column of tanks. Taken during the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests in Beijing, it is an iconic portrait of humanity's struggle against tyranny. The identity and fate of the young man -- known to history simply as "the tank man" -- remain unknown to this day.
